Here is Bill and Carolyn in line to disembark on the sea ice. You get another view of the life jackets. To disembark, one had to sit in a row of chairs, have a member of the crew take our shoes off, put our boots on, walk down the stairs to the lower deck, walk through a disinfectant pool, then walk down to another deck and get into the zodiac, which meant grasping a crew member wrist to wrist who was standing in the zodiac, taking one step onto the inflated rim of the zodiac, then the other foot onto a step on the floor of the zodiac, then the first foot onto the deck of the zodiac, then sitting down on the rim, holding onto ropes which lined the zodiac. The crew was very stern about learning the correct procedure.
